How volatile is the BMW collector car market? We know that 2020 has been an interesting year, to say the least, but what does that mean for the value of your BMW or one you may want to purchase in the near future?

Join Hagerty valuation experts Dave Kinney and Greg Ingold to discuss the BMWs that have had the biggest gains or losses in the past year. Dave and Greg will discuss the current state of the German car market, how current design decisions made by the brand are affecting the collector market; what models are going up and down in value and where they see the BMW brand going in the next 20 years?

This is a 30-minute seminar with a 15-minute Q&A to follow.

Dave Kinney — Dave Kinney is an appraiser and publisher of the Hagerty Price Guide. During the past 25 years, Kinney has owned hundreds of collector vehicles and has participated in the sale, repair, and valuation of all types of automobiles, although he is always drawn back to the Studebaker Avanti, of which he’s owned well over 100. Dave is based in Northern Virginia and is an Accredited Senior Appraiser, well-versed in the BMW marque.

Greg Ingold – Greg Ingold manages Hagerty’s transactional database and although his personal interest focuses on the American muscle car market, both old and new, he has come to know the BMW market well in his role as associate editor of the Hagerty Price Guide.

Topics for discussion will include:

- state of BMW car values in the current marketplace.

- how current design decisions made by BMW are affecting the collector market.

- what models & trims are going up and down in value.

- where Hagerty sees the BMW-brand going in the next 20 years.

- examples of recent and unexpected auction sales.

- how the cancellations of on-site, in-person auctions have effected the market.
